Long Beach Long Island Maternity Photography

It was an honor doing this Long Beach Long Island Maternity Photography session. This session was planned right before the start of the summer and we had a beautiful day. We first started the photo session by taking a few in studio portraits against a regular white background. I always like to add some drama especially on pregnant bellies so I did a few photos with some dramatic lighting. Afterwards we drove down to Long Beach just in time to catch the sunset. We first did some photos on the boardwalk and then walked to the sand to get some shots with the sunset in the background. I used both the natural golden hour light for some of the shots and some flash for some dramatic photos. I love both styles and I always try to shoot both ways to give the client two different looks to choose from. It is always exciting to see their reactions when they see the photos using the flash as it always illicitates a huge WOW from them.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. Let me know which style you like better. Pastel skies or rich and dramatic skies. Or both.

New York Glamour/Outdoor Portraits

NEW YORK GLAMOUR /OUTDOOR PORTRAITS

New York Glamour goes to the park……chasing cherry blossoms! Yes…..spring is finally here after a long, nasty and ruthless winter in NYC. I don’t know about you but there is only so much white powder and cold one can deal with. I photographed this lovely lady for her new headshots (her session will be posted in another upcoming post…..:o)) After we completed her headshots for her new website, I dragged her to this location to get some shots of her with these cherry blossoms. I happened to stumble upon them the day before at a shoot and just had to take advantage since cherry blossoms are not in season for too long……usually they last up to about 2 weeks. So if you love them as much as I do and want photos with them you will have to wait until next year since they are all gone now. They usually bloom in late April, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. With some flexibility and close attention you might be able to seize the moment. If you like these flowers then I recommend that you book your session in March for April and then we will just have to be a little flexible with a date as we wait patiently for them to bloom. :o)

I just love photographing women. Women of every age, shape and size. I love it when women get to experience how beautiful they truly are. We as women are always hard on ourselves, are self-conscious of our image, of our flaws and often we don’t see and just forget how beautiful we really are. Here are some really great images from my recent shoot with Marie. The theme of this shoot was Contemporary, Elegant, Magazine-style Glamour and Boudoir. The goal of this shoot was to create images that are classic, timeless and elegant. This style of photography is for every woman. Many women secretly wish to have magazine-style photos of themselves. Often we just dismiss that idea of ever having them because we feel we are not “photogenic” enough. Unfortunately many of us fail to realize that it is the job of the photographer, through skills of proper lighting, posing and angles to capture you in the most flattering, appealing way that emphasizes your beauty. Don’t feel like posing in lingerie? No problem. You can still have beautiful, magazine-style portraits taken and don’t have to wear it if you are not comfortable or if you just don’t want to. You don’t need to pose in lingerie in order to have beautiful photos of yourself. You’ll have hair and make-up done….a day of beauty, a model experience you will never forget and beautiful photos that you will be proud of and that will serve as keepsakes long after your experience is over. New York Glamour Photography/Boudoir Photography/Session with Ms. J

Valentines Day is this week and I have been getting books and print orders together for some lucky men out there. It certainly has been busy the last couple of months. Lots of ladies booked Holiday and Valentines Day sessions as gifts for their sweeties. I love to begin my boudoir sessions with my clients wearing a dress. I like to start by getting a few glamour portraits for my ladies so that they can include these portraits in their books, frame them on their walls if they want to, or use them on their social media pages, etc. Not only that but everyone is a little nervous at the beginning of a session and I find that posing in a dress helps get rid of any jitters before getting into that sexy lingerie. Your boudoir session doesn’t just have to incorporate lingerie. Boudoir Photography is about feeling beautiful and sexy and you should wear whatever makes you feel that way.

Here are a few images from a recent session that I had with Ms. J, who was kind enough to allow me to share some of her and some of my favorites. I had a great time capturing her images and we even had some laughs. There were so many beautiful images to choose from. You have to agree that she just looks absolutely stunning in all of these.

Happy New Year! I have been so terrible about blogging and keeping up to date with the blog . I vowed that in 2014 I would get my butt into gear and post at least once a week. Although it is a late start, better late than never. So to kick off my first blog post of 2014, here are some photos of a recent shoot that I had with Amanda in NYC. Amanda is a gorgeous model and actress that lives in NYC. I had a great time shooting her last week and I hope to work together with her again in the future. Here are some of my many favorites from the session. I tried to narrow them down to five but it was really hard to choose. There are just so many great pics that reflect that many “shades” of Amanda. From glamourous to mysterious to vixen to sweet and fun.
