Long Island Headshots/Long Island Actor Headshots/Natural Light
I recently had a chance to work with this beautiful young actor on her headshots. As usual, I strictly used natural light on this session. It was a sunny day and the lighting was there so there was no need for me to set up strobes or continuous lighting when I had such beautiful available light in my studio. I always prefer using natural lighting when it is available because it is the most flattering and the best representation of yourself when you step into an audition room. Actor headshots should not be highly glamourous. You are an actor not a model. Your headshot needs to convey who you are so that casting directors know what you really look like in person. Therefore you will want photos that are perfectly lit with minimal shadows and distractions, especially if you are a female. That is why you must make sure that your photographer understands lighting and how it works. Continue reading
