As a photographer, one of my favorite places in New York to take prom photos is by Long Island City Piers, which is also known as Gantry Plaza Park. The water and NYC skyline just makes for a great picturesque backdrop for all photo opportunities!

For this pre-prom photoshoot we had a big group of over 20 kids from McClancy High School. I was able to get a big group photo of all the kids, as well as individual photos of each boy and girl and some couple photos. Everyone looked amazing. The gowns that the girls wore were oh so glamorous and pretty and the guys looked real sharp in their suits. They were all a real fun group and everyone had a great time..

If you are interested in having pre-prom photos taken in Long Island City or anywhere in the Long Island, New York area I suggest that you get in touch as soon as possible since prom season is also busy with communions, graduations, weddings and party’s. This means that it gets really busy in May and June for photographers. Everyone wants to have professional photos taken! And after a cold dreary winter who can blame that?

I offer a multitude of photo packages for individuals, couples and groups. You can customize your photography package for just yourself and your date, or also include your friends! If you are considering taking pre-prom photos at Long Island City Piers by a professional photographer please also keep in mind that you will be responsible for obtaining a permit in order to take pictures there.

Long Beach Long Island Maternity Photography

Long Beach Long Island Maternity Photography

It was an honor doing this Long Beach Long Island Maternity Photography session. This session was planned right before the start of the summer and we had a beautiful day. We first started the photo session by taking a few in studio portraits against a regular white background. I always like to add some drama especially on pregnant bellies so I did a few photos with some dramatic lighting. Afterwards we drove down to Long Beach just in time to catch the sunset. We first did some photos on the boardwalk and then walked to the sand to get some shots with the sunset in the background. I used both the natural golden hour light for some of the shots and some flash for some dramatic photos. I love both styles and I always try to shoot both ways to give the client two different looks to choose from. It is always exciting to see their reactions when they see the photos using the flash as it always illicitates a huge WOW from them.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. Let me know which style you like better. Pastel skies or rich and dramatic skies. Or both.

Long Island Bar Mitzvah Photographer/Bar Mitzvah Photos

Long Island Bar Mitzvah Photographer

I was super excited when an old friend contacted me to see if I was available to be her son Jonathan’s Long Island Bar Mitzvah Photographer. She was planning a very simple low key event with only close friends and family. Instead of having the services at a temple, she opted to have the services and luncheon all held at the Bonwit Inn in Commack, New York. Since everything was to be held at the restaurant, we met up prior the service to take some portraits and family formals. After that it was time for the service and then lunch was served.

It was a nice little event and the theme was Broadway since Jonathan is a huge enthusiast and loves the theatre and has seen many broadway and off broadway plays. Much to my surprise, he also loved being in front of the camera. He really enjoyed having his portraits taken. Right before his candle lighting we went around the restaurant to get some really cool dramatic photos. I found a small booth with a small window and the light was just exquisite.

Below you can find a mix of portraits, family formals and then the highlights of the day, including some photos of the service and the candle lighting as well as some detail shots from his Broadway theme.

Brooklyn Yoga Photographer/Yoga Photos in Dumbo

Last fall, Damara, a yogi and NY Yoga instructor contacted me to be her Brooklyn Yoga Photographer. Unfortunately it got too cold so we had to reschedule her yoga photoshoot for the early spring. There are so many great photo spots in the Dumbo and Brooklyn Bridge Park area for any portrait session, including dance, fitness and yoga photoshoots. We started by the graffiti walls since I simply love the beautiful yellow, orange, blue hues and pretty patterns. These walls always make for great backdrops for any portrait session and if you are in the area you will always find a photographer shooting there, whether professional or just someone taking a bunch of selfies with their friends. Damara warmed up and then went into a few yoga poses including a hand stand. She then changed into another outfit made by Athleta. We then made our way over to Pebble Beach and Jane’s Carousel to capture her doing some more poses against the NYC skyline.

New York City Senior Photographer/Senior Portraits

I love being a New York City Senior photographer! High School Seniors are always fun for me to photograph and Samantha was no exception. She was easy-going and knew exactly what she wanted out of her Senior Photos. She selected to go to Dumbo, Brooklyn as one of the locations for her senior photo session with its spectacular view of NYC, the Brooklyn Bridge and tons of urban texture, graffiti and color. There are many spots in Dumbo, NYC for great photo opportunities that are perfect for any high school senior that prefers a cool, grungy and urban vibe. I am sure that these photos will serve as a great reminder of her high school days.
