I am always excited to do a Long Island Pre-Sweet Photos session. Turning sixteen is such a special time in a young lady’s life that it deserves to be honored with not just a beautiful dress and Sweet 16 party, but with beautiful photos that she will have to cherish and remember this special occasion. And having a pre-sweet 16 photo session prior to the party has so many advantages.

Stephanie is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. So full of smiles, laughter and joy. I loved meeting her and her mom. We all got to know each other quite well while I was taking her photos and we talked all about the party. I learned that it was going to be a Disney theme. When I heard this, I felt like a kid again. You see, not only is Stephanie a huge Disney fan, but so am I. She wore a gorgeous pink gown and tiara. Just like a Disney princess. We started her pre-shoot by taking some photos in a pretty white and blue summer dress and then quickly moved on to the pink gown. We took some indoors and then went to one of my favorite parks and finished the shoot over there. Here is where Stephanie got to dance and twirl in her big gown. I was excited about the party, as was she and was happy to be the one that was going to capture the photos for what I knew was going to be an awesome party.

I really love doing these pre-Sweet 16 sessions, because they are such a beautiful season of life for these young girls. Taylor’s Sweet 16 Long Island Event Photography. I recently posted Taylor’s Sweet 16 pre-event glamour photos. Because Taylor’s party start time was when it was already dark, I explained to her family that we would have to meet three hours early on the day of the event in order to get the photos taken in the park that they wanted. After explaining all the benefits of having a pre-event Sweet 16 photo session, Taylor’s Mom agreed. We still planned to take some formal portraits of Taylor and her family on the day of the event. Taylor arrived an hour early with her family and court in order to get these portraits taken in and outside Jericho Terrace. It was a lovely night and Taylor had no problems going outside to get some cool night shots which I absolutely love taking. She absolutely loved taking these night shots. And Jericho Terrace certainly provided a beautiful backdrop for them. Afterwards, we went back inside and we took some photos with her court and her family. A select few of those are listed below. It was then time for the party to start and boy did this family know how to throw a good party. All the kids had a blast and it was super fun capturing this event and being part of Taylor’s memorable day.

Long Island Sweet 16/Brienna’s Sweet 16

Sweet 16’s are always a lot of fun. It’s a reason for a girl to get all dressed up, her hair and make-up done and invite all of her friends and family to celebrate her very special day. She gets to feel like a princess and dance the night away. And then there is the candle ceremony where she calls upon one person or group at a time to help light one candle. She will do this sixteen times, sometimes seventeen times for good luck. That is probably usually the slowest part of the evening. After that dancing resumes…..

NYC Sweet 16 Photography/Sheraton Laguardia East

NYC Sweet 16 Photography/Sheraton Laguardia East

This summer I had the pleasure to photograph Stephanie again. But this time it wasn’t for headshots, but for her Sweet 16 Birthday Party at the Sheraton Laguardia East in NYC. Apparently she wasn’t really interested in having a Sweet 16 party for herself but after attending a friends, she immediately dialed her Mom and Dad from the party and told them ” I want one.” To which they replied, “you want what?” ” A party…..a Sweet 16 party.” Mom and Dad both agreed and then all the preparations began.

It was a beautiful summer evening at the Sheraton. Stephanie had her party in one of their ballrooms and we got to take advantage of taking some photos on their beautiful outdoor terrace.

Then the party began. And before you knew it, it was time for the candle lighting ceremony.

Then Stephanie went to change dresses and after a bunch of speeches it was time for her to cut her cake.

Long Island Sweet 16/Carlyle on the Green in Bethpage

I wanted to share this collection of images from Kiera’s Sweet 16 at Carlyle on the Green in Bethpage, Long Island that took place earlier this summer. Kiera is a beautiful girl and the dress that she wore was an absolute stunner. She truly looked like a model. It was a beautiful day most of the day so we were fortunate enough to take some portraits outdoors on the beautiful grounds of Carlyle on the Green in Bethpage State Park. Just as we began, some dark, threatening clouds came rolling in. And then a few drops came down and all the girls ran back inside before the rain came pouring down. We finished up with a few more shots indoors before the party started. It was a great party. The DJ’s kept the party going on the dance floor as Kiera and her friends danced the night away and everyone had a great time.

It was an honor and pleasure to photograph Kiera’s Sweet 16 at Carlyle on the Green in Bethpage. Congratulations again to Kiera on her Sweet 16!
